This is a 1-year parental leave cover and is based in Stockholm.
World Water Week is the leading, annual global event on water and development, taking place in late August each year. Building on SIWI's mission to leverage knowledge and our convening power to strengthen water governance for a just, prosperous and sustainable future, and World Water Week's move to Tele2 Arena in 2019, this position will work with colleagues from across the organization to help strengthen the impact and financial sustainability of the event through partnership.
The role
In this role, you will be responsible for generating and managing financial and in-kind partners for World Water Week & Prizes. Tasks will include proposal development and writing, contract management and invoicing, reporting, relationship management and business development. You will also manage the delivery of the agreements, together with relevant colleagues.
Our partners include organizations from a range of sectors, such as government, private sector and media. It is essential that you are a quick learner, have a strong aptitude for partnership development and relationship management, have stellar relationship management skills, and can grasp complex structures and concepts quickly.
You will report to the Director, World Water Week & Prizes, and be part of an experienced team of highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering and communicating World Water Week, the Stockholm Water Prize and Stockholm Junior Water Prize.

You have a strong attention to detail and can understand and adapt to the needs and contexts of complex international organizations.
You have envious communication and relationship management skills. While you have a wealth of knowledge and experience, you aren't afraid to ask for advice or input, and thrive in a collaborative yet responsibility-driven environment. The position is a full-time, temporary position, starting in March 2020. The position is based at the SIWI offices in Stockholm, Sweden. Permission to work in Sweden is required.
You will manage all stages of the partnership process, from idea to reporting. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Secure financial and in-kind partners for World Water Week & Prizes
Establish, develop and maintain effective relationships with current and potential partners
Manage and expand the partner pipeline and database
Contribute to the development of the World Water Week and Prizes' financing strategy
Communication with partners
Budget management
Contract and financial administration
Ensure monitoring, evaluation of, and reporting for partnerships
Keep up to date with legal aspects and ensure compliance in relevant areas
Ensure the delivery of contracts, including the preparation of reports and documentation as required
Perform analysis and identify gaps and opportunities in the marketplace
To fit in the role, we would like you to have the following background:
Experience in securing, planning, and managing partnerships, ideally with international organizations from public and private sectors
Understanding of sales processes and/or partnership development - ideally in a development context
Experience in project management and coordination
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels, across sectors and cultures
Business acumen
Ability to effectively alternate between thinking strategically and executing at high quality.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English. Additional languages are a merit
Excellent computer skills, and experience with social media, WordPress, MailChimp and databases, and with the capacity to quickly learn new systems
A good understanding of planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning
Experience working with development and/or sustainability issues is a merit
Minimum 5 years of proven experience from working with event, media sponsorship and/or partnership management
