Subject area
Within this subject, the operational aspects as well as the overall purpose and strategic needs and effects of green space management activities are considered. The successful applicant is expected to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experiences in relation to both educational and research activities. Research and education related to Landscape Governance and Management relates to the further development of the urban green environment, but also on a social scientific background to the development of governance issues, organizational structures, cooperation activities, user involvement and to the planning of actual maintenance operations.

Duties
The successful applicant will contribute to the development of the Department's research & development within the field of Landscape Governance & Management. The position includes teaching responsibilities as well as supervision of BSc and MSc students, and as co-supervisor at PhD level. The applicant is expected to be able to develop research applications and to produce academic papers, publishable in international peer-reviewed journals. Further, it is expected that the successful applicant actively strives to develop cooperation with relevant actors and stakeholders in society. Applicants are expected to document knowledge and qualifications within at least one of the following areas;

• Urban Open Space Planning and Management; preferably in relation to overall concepts such as Green Infrastructure planning, Urban Forestry or Nature-based Solutions.

• Green Space Maintenance including development of multifunctional solutions; multi-disciplinary cooperation within humanism, social sciences and natural sciences.

• Factors which influence the physical, and especially the green environments development; experience in planning and project management of national and international projects.

Qualifications
To be qualified for appointment as Senior Lecturer, the applicant should:

• hold a PhD in landscape architecture, landscape planning, or related subject of relevance to the position's subject area. The successful candidate must have worked with research related to the subject area at post-doctoral level or equivalent.
• have undergone training in teaching and learning in higher education or by other means acquired the equivalent skills which should correspond to at least 10 weeks of full time studies.
• have shown teaching proficiency.

Assessment criteria
Assessment for the appointment shall be based on the degree in which a candidate possesses the skill required to qualify for appointment. Moreover, regard shall be paid to the degree in which a candidate possesses skills in developing and managing activities and staff at the higher education institution and aptitude in interacting with the surrounding community and informing people about research and development projects. Special attention will be given to the assessment of research and teaching skills. For the assessment of the teaching skills, much emphasis will be placed on experiences of course development, planning, implementation, examination and evaluation of teaching. The ability to initiate and carry out research and development work within the subject area is meriting, as well as the ability to integrate pedagogic and scientific skills. A well-developed national and international network is desirable. Furthermore, applicants will be evaluated in relation to the ability to develop the current research area, and to gain external funding. Applicants who do not speak Swedish or another Scandinavian language as mother tongue are expected within a relatively short period of time (2 years) to gain sufficient ability to teach and perform other relevant work duties in Swedish at a sufficient level.
