Subject description
The subject of the position is business administration with a focus on business management, which includes financial management in companies and organisations, business management and corporate strategic perspectives. The subject of business administration the department is focused on the agricultural and horticultural sectors and most of the business administration teaching at the department is aimed at vocational programmes within these sectors.

Duties
The senior lecturer is expected to, within the subject of the appointment:

• contribute to scientific development in collaboration with the subject area leader
• develop, lead and conduct successful research in the subject of business administration
• plan, lead and implement research projects and apply for external funding in competition
• publish articles in peer-reviewed journals
• develop and strengthen teaching in business administration at all levels in the education cycle
• conduct teaching, supervision and examination at undergraduate and graduate levels in courses within relevant educational programmes, especially the agricultural and rural management programme and the horticultural engineering programmes
• supervise PhD students
• communicate research and research results
• be able to teach in Swedish or another Scandinavian language

Eligibility
The applicant shall, within the subject of the appointment:

• have completed a doctoral degree in business administration, agricultural science or similar, have demonstrated the ability to obtain external research grants
• be pedagogically proficient
• have completed higher education teaching training or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge
• have good knowledge of Swedish or another Scandinavian language; have good knowledge in English

Assessment criteria
Assessment criteria for employment shall primarily apply to the degree of such skill that is a requirement for eligibility for employment.

When assessing scientific skill within the subject of employment, the following will be taken into account:

• completed research efforts and ongoing research
• ability to independently initiate and conduct eminent and innovative research
• external research funds obtained in competition

When assessing pedagogical skills within the subject of employment, the following will be taken into account:

• planning, implementation, examination and evaluation of own teaching
• supervision and examination at all levels in the educational cycle
• ability to integrate research and a scientific approach into educational work
• pedagogical vision

Furthermore, skills in the following areas will be assessed:

• communicating and collaborating
• collaborating with external stakeholders and the surrounding society
• informing/communicating about research and development work

Specific competence in business administration within the green sector (agriculture and horticulture) is particularly meritorious.

The assessment of pedagogical skills is given as much care as the assessment of scientific skills.
