We are now recruiting a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Physiology with a background as a registered senior biomedical laboratory scientist specialized in clinical physiology with a relevant PhD.

Titel: Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Laboratory Science
Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter: Specific subject description: A biomedical scientist has a central and responsible role in the laboratories and clinics in the Healthcare services. They are also in demand in the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology companies. The profession demands both interest in technology and an ability to meet people. The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Laboratory Science requires Three years of full-time study. The programme provides a broad base for research and development in the biomedical field. An additional year of second-cycle education is required before graduate biomedical scientists meet the entry requirements for doctoral studies. Job assignments: The position includes being a course leader and teacher in courses at the Institute of Medicine within the Biomedical Laboratory Science Programme and working closely with the Institute's other Senior Lecturers in the Biomedical Laboratory Science Programme to develop existing and new courses. The position also includes ensuring that the education is of hight quality and meets all the criteria. Clinical work can also be included. If the position can be combined with other duties it can be increased to a full-time position.
Beskrivning av kvalifikationer: Eligibility: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. For the position as Senior Lecturer the applicant must have a PhD degree and demonstrated pedagogical skills. The applicant must hold a qualification as a registered biomedical laboratory scientist specialized in clinical physiology. Assessment: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Primary criteria: . Educational and scientific skills (equal weight) Also assessed: . Proven experience in educational development and quality work at the local and/or national level . Documented experience in developing technique and ensuring quality in research and/or clinical work . Ability to cooperate, and to develop and manage activities and staff . Clinical skills within the field In addition, extensive experience as course leader in the Biomedical Laboratory Science Programme and significant experience in clinical work is an advantage. The candidate is expected to teach in both Swedish and English. It's considered a merit if the applicant have completed university education in teaching. The successful applicant may also be asked to complete an educational programme within the first year of employment.
