Who are we?
Within Volvo Cars the Solution Vehicle Tophat has the competence to deliver optimized, high-quality, and affordable mechanical, electrical hardware and software design solutions as part of an attractive personalized consumer offer. We develop sustainable and safe Tophats to provide freedom in a changing society. The Solution Vehicle Tophat is responsible for the development of the complete Tophat content distributed in the ARTs Interior Room, Seats and Safety, Exterior Front and Rear, Exterior systems, and Interior Trim and Systems.
To be able to strengthen our Solution when it comes to the electrical HW we are looking for a Senior Electronic Hardware and EMC specialist to support, guide and coach our teams during the development, documentation, and quality assurance in quality improvements, benchmark activities, warranty regress activities, and advanced engineering project.
What will you do?
As a shared service Senior Electronic HW and EMC Specialist, you will support, guide, and coach our teams during the development, documentation, and quality assurance in quality improvements, benchmark
activities, warranty regress activities, and advanced engineering projects.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Act as an expert in the area of Electrical Hardware design in the area,
• Develop and document component hardware specifications,
• Take part in quality assuring development activities such as FMEA, Design Reviews, and test planning,
• Take part in quality investigations for field issues,
• Review supplier hardware design during sourcing and benchmark activities,
• Be the natural go-to person for support regarding hardware design in general.
Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for a Senior Electronical Hardware and EMC Specialist who has a B.Sc. and/or higher degree in Electronics, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics, or a similar level of education. We also believe that you have at least 10 years of documented experience in electronic hardware design. In addition, knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, System Safety ISO26262 and EMC requirements will be needed to perform the responsibilities. You need to be proficient in English written and spoken.
Competence and experience are important, but personality is key!
The person we are looking for is open-minded with a positive attitude and has great communicational skills. Also, this person needs to like problem-solving with a sense of urgency and should work structured with good documentation.
