The Scientific Programme Manager is a senior member of the CVMD iMed Strategy & Externalisation team. This team holds the responsibility for coordinating iMed specific Externalisation, Alliance Management and Collaborations, Competitive Intelligence, Publication Strategy and Compliance.
The Scientific Programme Manager is responsible for overseeing the administration and management of several collaboration projects / programs with key academic institutions across the iMED (cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, oncology, respiratory and inflammation and Neuroscience).
The role
In this role you will need to be adept at managing projects from the requisite gathering/needs from various academic PI?s and coordinating across multiple iMED departments for resource demands. You will be working closely with R&D Finance for seamless budget allocation.
The role requires a high performing and strategic thinking professional that has excellent skills at client engagement. It also requires an in-depth understanding of management of project portfolios and communicating within the iMED stakeholders and leadership teams and to do analysis of project progression, timelines and gaps, budget and resources and ensuring that stakeholder expectations are met.
Careful integration, analysis and dissemination of information will be a vital input for the leadership team to support decision-making for the iMeds.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Proactively develop a program management system that allows for an evaluation of the progression and value of scientific programmes in multiple disease areas
Work closely as an alliance manager with Principal Investigators of various existing collaborations and provide insight into the progression, resource demands, issues and budget of the programmes
As an administrator, analyse the needs and work closely with the iMED representatives to ensure seamless communications with the PIs of the academic institutions and alert stakeholders of resource, budget or administrative gaps
Ensure that project objectives are accomplished in accordance with outlined priorities
Provide program management administration support by planning and coordinating the visit logistics with PIs and iMED representatives and set up Joint Steering Committee meetings
Coordinate meetings and participate in JSC / JRC to review project status and prepare minutes, project status reports for management
Play a critical role in coordinating and analyzing the scientific program portfolio status with risk analysis assessment based on the project status and progression
Work closely with CVMD portfolio and operations director to support project management needs of the organisation
Internal and External Contacts/Customers
Works closely with CVMD iMed Departments, Disease Strategy Leads, Strategy and Externalisation Team, Triage Team, GPPS, SPA and BDO and maintains strong links with external KOL networks.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to the Head of CVMD Strategy & Externalisation, the geographical scope is global, the location for the role is Stockholm.
Minimum Requirements/Experience
Bachelors / Masters Degree or equivalent in a Science related field
10 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/CRO industry and/or a leading academic institution
Strong understanding of project management process and expertise in working in multiple disease areas
