The Supply Network team at Volvo Penta Purchasing is now looking for a proficient and dedicated Risk Manager to join us.
Volvo Penta Purchasing has the responsibility to manage sourcing of production parts for the Volvo Penta business and develop existing supplier base. The Risk Manager Purchasing is part of the Supply Network Resiliency (SNR) team which manages risk, supplier development and supplier delivery assurance within this department. We believe that being proactive is key to staying profitable and to drive customer success. The Risk Manager Purchasing plays a vital role in securing that we identify and mitigate risks appropriately for the supply network to perform effectively.
Purpose
The purpose of the Risk Manager Purchasing role is to drive the Risk Management work within the Volvo Penta Purchasing organization.
Responsibilities
The Risk Manager Purchasing has the responsibility to lead, develop and coordinate Risk Management within the Volvo Penta Purchasing (VPP) organization. He/she will be responsible for executing and developing existing processes within the scope of Risk Management.
Main tasks include to ensure that Risks are identified, assessed (in terms of probability and consequence) and that appropriate mitigation actions are being implemented. This is done through facilitating supplier and purchasing risk review process as well as to drive and follow up on decided mitigation actions. The Risk Manager Purchasing is expected to be able to add own evaluations of Risks and make conclusions based on inputs from the organization, strategies, market developments and external sources as well as suggest and sometimes drive mitigation actions. Furthermore, training of VPP organization in Risk Management, processes and tools are part of the responsibilities.
Risk Management in VPP includes looking at risks from both an operational and strategic point of view. Furthermore, risks are managed on several different levels including supplier specific risks, commodity risks or general/global risks.
In some specific cases the Risk Manager Purchasing can be the responsible person, when a risk is realized and becomes a crisis, to lead and mitigate decided actions.
We expect the role to report regularly and manage feedback to the VPP organization including management team concerning purchasing and supplier risk levels, consequences, and status of mitigation actions. Finally, we also expect the role to take part in the strategic improvement work related to the Risk Manager Purchasing role and processes.

With respect to the decided governance and processes, the Risk Manager Purchasing has the authorities to act to fulfill the above described tasks and responsibilities.
What we are looking for in you
We would like you to have a university degree in technology and/or business but key is to have an understanding and experience in Risk Management, preferably in the manufacturing industry and/or purchasing area. We expect the candidate to demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking skills as well as having a strong business mindset. Furthermore, skills in communication, leadership and coaching are traits we are looking for. The ideal candidate is engaged and can with a holistic approach work with and drive the Risk Management work for VPP.
You will be part of a team, but this role will require you to drive own initiatives and work independently. Collaboration between different departments and companies within the Volvo Group will be essential. Being fluent in English is required and experience from working in an international environment is beneficial.
