Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

The Scania aim is to drive shift towards sustainable transport system. The responsibility of Research & Innovation (YR) is to understand what the future might look like and to build strategies to take us there.

The role of Research & Innovation (YR) at R&D is:

• To be the external interface for research and innovation
• To facilitate, coordinate & communicate research and innovation of Scania
• To prepare Scania for the future

• Show the business opportunities that new technology bring
• Develop new competencies, new ways of working and new mind sets

Scania need to strengthen its competence and capabilities about the future urban mobility & logistics eco-system and find answers to the following research questions

How can urban logistics be made more sustainable and what will be the opportunities for Scania.?

• How can urban space be better utilized and what will be the role of the vehicle ?
• How can productivity in urban logistics be improved and what is the role for Scania ?
• What is the impact of new business models on vehicle design and architecture ?

Your role

Your role as a Research Manager for Sustainable and Efficient Urban logistics

• Build further on collaboration with academy, industry and government
• Take part in relevant platforms within Sweden and EU
• Build up internal Scania expert competence and capabilities
• Initiate research projects and collaborations within the area
• Deliver result according to the targets for the research area "Transport systems"

Your Profile

• You have a relevant academic education and a background in working for academy, government and industry is an advantage
• You have an extensive experience in working with research collaboration between academy, industry and government
• You have a good experience and knowledge about the future urban mobility & logistics system
• You enjoy working with complex questions in collaboration with many different partners.
• You can analyze the organization's overall needs; Have a broad and comprehensive approach to different issues, events and happenings and realize their long-term significance
• You can use political processes to influence and persuade people.
• You establish good relationships with partners and employees; Creates comprehensive and effective networking within and outside the organization; Have good relationships with people of all levels.
• You have a relevant academic education and a background in working for academy, government and industry is an advantage
