hela Sverige Södertörns högskola (Södertörn University) in south Stockholm is a dynamic institute of higher education with a unique profile and high academic standard. A large proportion of the university staff holds doctorates and there is a strong link between undergraduate education and research. Södertörn University has around 11 000 students and 840 employees.
Undergraduate and postgraduate education and research are conducted in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Technology and Education. Our site is in Flemingsberg.
Södertörn University is an equal opportunities employer.
The Centre for Baltic and East European Studies (CBEES) is an international research centre that is tasked with stimulating, coordinating and developing Södertörn University's research and third-cycle (doctoral) education with a focus on the Baltic Sea region and Eastern Europe, as well as conducting its own research in this field. The centre has a young profile due to the Baltic and Eastern European Graduate School (BEEGS), where more than 70 doctoral students have completed a PhD since 2001, though it also includes senior researchers and second-cycle (Master's) students. Our research is multidisciplinary, and broad contextualisation of research issues in time and space allows us to strive for deepened understanding of the ecological, political, social, historic and cultural situation in the region. Examples of areas in which research is conducted are regionalism and changing borders in the new Europe, geopolitical constructions, the use of history in Europe after 1989/1991 and the dynamics between sustainability, social change, knowledge and technology in the Baltic Sea region. The working language at CBEES is English.
We now wish to appoint two research leaders at CBEES. Research leaders are key positions, working together under the management of CBEES' director. Their job is to develop, coordinate and highlight research conducted as part of the university's Baltic Sea region and Eastern Europe profile in accordance with the university's vision and strategy document
