JOB DESCRIPTION Axis is on a journey where software, applications, solutions and connected services have an increased business and technical focus to blend with our world class product portfolio. As R&D Director for Platform and Aftermarket Services you are responsible for managing the organization and its management team and to actively contribute to Axis journey ahead. You take an active role in developing Axis' overall software, solutions, services and products agenda as part of the Software management team, and as the leader of the Platform and Aftermarket Services organization.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS We believe you have a Master's degree in computer science (or similar) and documented leadership skills, preferably with experience from leading a management team with focus on organizational development including a strategic agenda around software as well as operational efficiency and quality.
You have experience of agile ways of working, you lead by example and you're passionate about software development. You take responsibility and you excel at motivating and encouraging the people you work with.
We also believe you have a genuine interest and talent in leading people and organizations. It is important for you to know and understand your employees, and you will do whatever it takes to make their situation as good as possible while still getting the most out of your organization. You find it easy to interact with individuals as well as organizations, and can negotiate when needed. You combine the skill of listening with the skill of deciding, and can find a good balance in between the two.
Experience from working with continuous delivery, devops, operational efficiency, release programs, embedded Linux platforms, customer services & support as well as development tools for software engineers and software organizations is a plus.
The Platform and Aftermarket Services Unit The Platform and Aftermarket Services Unit is a key hub and stakeholder in Axis internal R&D eco system for releasing firmware to our product portfolio, driving operational efficiency, providing Axis R&D with an efficient development environment as well as actively working with market and customer feedback. It is responsible for planning, releasing and supporting the firmware platform used in the Axis product portfolio. The unit is also responsible for developing and maintaining the software development tools used within Axis R&D, and implementing continuous deployment across several departments. The actual development teams responsible for platform code reside in other departments. Moreover, the unit has its own development team with a long tradition in technical market services that is responsible for service releases to the product portfolio. It is gradually building capabilities around aftermarket services to include professional services in shape software customizations and additions for our products. WHAT AXIS CAN DO FOR YOU?
