Scania Purchasing is responsible for the sourcing of products and services to all of Scania units worldwide and this team is responsible for all powertrain components in running production.

We are looking for a Manager for the group Commodity Powertrain Components within the department of Powertrain & Chassis. You will be responsible to lead and support a team of eleven purchasers who ensure a world-class supplier base. With sustainability in mind and a long term perspective, the team secures the right capacity and cost structure for their respective segments.
You will be heading a diverse, skilled, and dedicated team of engaged purchasers from many different nationalities, where our diverse competences are part of our success. The complete team is located in and working from the Scania Purchasing office in Södertälje. We are in a modern work office landscape with the possibility to work from home some days of the week, thanks to the up-to-date remote work system.
Main tasks
As Purchasing Manager of Powertrain components, your focus is to create the prerequisites for your team to succeed in an evolving and complex environment. You, and your team, secure the right cost and capacity levels by developing and executing segment and supplier strategies.
With solid integrity You will represent your team, the department, Purchasing or Scania at various occasions and in a global environment, e.g. in decision meetings. You will coach your colleagues and team members in day-to-day challenges, such as negotiation tactics.

Your work includes plenty of interactions internally, within the VW group, with suppliers and cross-functionally and hence important that you naturally collaborate with others, build trust, and are clear in communication.
