The Product Specialist (PS) is the product champion throughout its lifecycle with a product and application focus. The PS represents the customer and is subject matter expert for the portfolio of products assigned. Deep knowledge of the customer, product application, and technical dimensions of their product. Across all professional brands, through all sales channels, coordinating with and cooperating with key business functions.
This role requires many cross functional interfaces. Key contacts are R&D and Project Management, sales organizations & end customers, application specific product managers cross divisions.
The products in scope includes batteries, chargers and related accessories, however responsibilities can be divided within the team based on the applicants profile.
Essential Duties and key tasks within product area:
• Product specification: Owner of Market and user specification for all new projects
• Projects: Takes active role in projects and in maintenance of portfolio. Support product delivery on time with right specification and cost.
• Product launch: Ensure timing of product launch and support Sales in launch of products. Provide key selling points, support agency briefs, PR briefs, product training materials, sales materials, etc. Perform training of sales teams ensuring a successful launch.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyse trends, competition, authorities (regulatory), technology steps and summarize to others. Initiate consumer research as needed. Visits to end users and dealers for knowledge building.
• Product Administration: Owner of product master data, ensure and update product data in systems. Implement phase-in/phase out plans and suitable tail cutting. Support sales organisation with product information.
YOUR PROFILE:
• University studies, Master in engineering or economics/marketing
• Min 5 years work experience.
• Experience from Product Management and battery products is an advantage
• English, both written and oral.
• Interested in technology, battery development/technology shift in particular, some experience from using battery products preferred.
Skills and Capabilities:
Customer focused, both internal and external customers incl other internal Husqvarna division
Analytical skills, can sort out key questions and structure assignments
Self-drive, can take ownership and work on own complex assignments without daily support
Good communicator and presenter, enjoys selling an idea to others and to talk in front of a crowd
Good knowledge of office package (excel and PowerPoint)
This position may involve 10-15 days of international travel
