JOB DESCRIPTION
As Product Manager you will have the main responsibility for capabilities that enhance the value of our Cameras and Encoders. You will manage the entire life cycle - from strategic planning to tactical activities. In this role you will have high focus on promoting the added capabilities and the solutions they enable to our partners and the market. You will take lead and drive go-to-market plans and market activities for your area. You will drive new capabilities from existing ideas, as well as enhancing the core functionality in our products.
As a Product Manager it's important to enjoy spending time in the market to understand their needs, and based on that specify innovative solutions for the market. You must have broad experience from both business and technology, preferably from the video surveillance industry.
You will work in a team with several product managers responsible for the capabilities that forms Axis' firmware platform and you must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work closely with other product managers to get input on the solutions needed in different product categories. Within R&D you will work with project managers to define the use cases requirements and with an Engineering Manager to plan implementation plans and future development. You will also work with the Marketing department to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the key benefits, and target customer. Our Partner & Business Development Managers will help you to sell the value of the new solutions to our software partners to enable the full market value.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Excellent understanding of the competition and market needs
• Take an active part in market and sales activities to promote your solutions
• Inform and train the sales force at new firmware launches
• Define strategy and roadmap for your camera and endcoder capabilities
• Define capabilities to meet and fulfill the strategy and roadmaps
The role involves around 40 days of travel a year.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Axis is looking for a socially skilled team player with the ability to manage and perform in a multi-cultural environment with international contacts. We believe that the suitable candidate has a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. You have a structured way of solving and attacking tasks and issues, yet a flexible mindset, enjoy high pace and is open to changes.
The right candidate has a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience as a product manager or other equivalent experience. We think that you are knowledgeable in technology and have an excellent understanding of business and market dynamics. Solution knowledge on CCTV or/and Video surveillance systems as well as technical knowledge about Axis' cameras is required for this position.
Apart from above we would like the successful candidate to have/be:
• Demonstrated success defining and launching solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English.
• Always open to customers and colleagues
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT TEAM
Product Management Video Products is responsible for the Network Cameras, Encoders/Decoders and Accessories product offerings. This includes product planning, managing the products' life cycle, and handling of complex support issues escalated from local support teams. Our interfaces are both internal such as R&D, Sales & Marketing and Operations as well as external customers, partners and suppliers.
