The Global Marketing Organization is critical to the success of any game. We work closely with game developers to ensure the game has a clear design and a clear ?X? factor, (i.e., the defining element of the game that makes it unique and the ultimate reason behind why our customers should pay for and play our game). The Marketing team identifies the key audience for our games and tailors the marketing strategy to communicate clearly to the intended target.
The Challenge Ahead
Located in Gothenburg, Sweden, the Ghost Games studio is the hub of the Need for Speed franchise. Comprised of industry veterans from cutting-edge studios such as DICE (Stockholm) and Criterion (London), Ghost Games has begun work on future iterations of the Need for Speed franchise.
Based in the studio in Gothenburg, the Product Manager is accountable for delivering the global product marketing plans for all Need for Speed titles. This means helping to create the franchise?s marketing strategies and driving its major initiatives, tactics, and executions in the marketplace.
As the product marketing owner some moderate global travel will be required.
What a Product Manager does at EA:
Work with development team to define product positioning, feature sets and licensing applications to optimize commercial potential.
Responsible for maintaining the brand ?bible? and communicating it across the business
Develop and execute the product marketing plan, which includes product positioning, target market identification and analysis, volume forecasting, budgeting, category & competitive analysis and pricing analysis.
Use sales databases to identify trade and consumer trends and provide Studio (sr. producer/exec producer) with quarterly Sales & Marketing Review.
Work with Consumer Marketing teams (Advertising, Graphic Design, PR, etc) to develop all consumer marketing materials.
Work with trade marketing dept. to develop retailer promotions and trade advertising.
Create and manage asset calendar to meet all Marketing and Comms milestones.
Drive the development of key product assets including screen shots, game footage, visual renders, sizzle videos, and b-roll.
Manage the preparation and onsite support for sales meetings, trade shows, press events, and consumer launch events.
Evangelize and represent the product to internal and external stakeholders
Be a specialist about EA's and the competitions products within the product category.
Develop and manage research plan alongside Insights & Analytics teams, including focus groups, surveys and post analysis information sharing.
Manage and communicate global marketing budgets.
The next great EA Product Manager also needs:
5+ year's product marketing experience, preferably with a video game, entertainment or consumer product organization.
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Marketing degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent creative and strategic thinking.
Strong commercial acumen
Proven success leading creative teams and negotiating deals.
Self-Motivated Individual.
Passion for video games.
