http://www.microbiomics.se) . The mission of UMC is to develop and apply powerful biomarker approaches to analyze and characterize entire microbial communities and individual microbial species, and to assess their ecology and impact on agriculture, forestry and the environment.
Job description: The post doc position is on analyzing the microbial community involved in chitin dynamics in aquatic and terrestrial systems. The work will involve community profiling using next generation sequencing and development of novel methods for specific detection of chitinase activity. Emphasize will be put on the contribution of fungi to these processes.
Eligibility: Applicants should have a PhD degree and a background in mycology or microbial ecology.
The position is full time for two years and available immediately, preferably starting no later than September 1, 2009
