Principal and Lead Physical Architect, for Truck Electrical System

If yes, you now have the opportunity to join our department, Systems Engineering, taking responsibility for physical architectural aspects when developing the electrical and electronic architecture for the Volvo Group's trucks to come.
We are responsible for the development of the electrical & electronics architecture and the electrical system design. We targets development of an electrical system that can contribute to new customer features in world class trucks, and you will take a leading role defining the principles of high level physical concepts to contribute to utilize common architecture and shared technologies for the different trucks within the Volvo group.

Our team of system engineers works cross functional with engineers from many different areas. We share our knowledge and draw strength from our individual competences, to reach our common goal of delivering state of the art customer solutions, enabling customer success.

Position Description
As a Physical Architect you will bring the physical aspects into architectural work about the coming changes of the electrical system. You will work closely together with colleagues in an open-minded and creative environment, were you lead the way forward. You will guide the development of technical system solutions, targeting customer gains and long term profitability. Your work will include high level analysis and management on system level, as well as proposing solutions within the physical area.

Principle Physical Architect: Highest responsible for the Electrical System Physical Architecture, strategies, principles and high level electronics development aspects, for all Heavy Duty trucks within the Volvo Group. High level cooperation with other departments to secure space and other physical aspects needed for the trucks to come.
You strive to identify roadblocks in the reference architecture and drives initiations of advanced engineering projects to increase knowledge within areas blocking the development, you develop roadmaps and long term plans for future development of the electrical and electronic system.

Lead Physical Architect: Put electrical system physical principles into practice for areas as Electromobility, Autonomous drive, Chassis, Cab or other sub-area, in a small team of physical architects and as representative in the product development project teams. Create understanding of the coming electrical systems and components, and secures high level solution of physical aspects. You will know and plan for utilization of physical system resources, such as available space and pins, to secure that all planned features will work in the same trucks.

Who are you?
We are looking for engineers who are both structured and thorough as well as having an open mind and positive attitude in team work and enjoy working with new complex technologies. You are experienced from leading technical development and are used to make technical recommendations. You have worked with truck or car development, maybe with packaging, packaging principles, modularization of systems or other work were there have been challenges fitting all needed equipment into the vehicle, fulfilling all requirements..

Qualifications
Having integrity and a customer and business oriented mindset.
MSc in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics engineering or similar.
Experience of vehicle development.
Preferably five years' experience from developing vehicle electrical systems for the Lead role, and 10 years' relevant experience for the Principal role.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
