PhD Student in Software Engineering:
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is jointly hosted by the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. It is a is strongly international department, with approximately 240 employees originating from over 30 countries. The announced PhD position is located at the department's division of Software Engineering (SE), with the University of Gothenburg as the formal employer. The Software Engineering division has 19 faculty members, covering expertise ranging from software architecture, model-driven software engineering, software product line engineering, requirements engineering, process improvement and change management, human factors, agile processes, to verification and validation.
The announced position focuses on software product line engineering and model-driven software engineering. The position is funded by the European ITEA3 project REVaMP2,
which comprises the Swedish partners Scania, ABB, Saab, Altran, KTH, and Karlstad University, and a total of 26 more partners from the larger European consortium comprising France, Germany, Spain, and Belgium. The PhD candidate is jointly supervised by Ass. Prof. Prof. Thorsten Berger and Ass. Prof. Jan-Philipp Steghöfer.

Job assignments
The PhD candidate is expected to conduct research on methods and tools to re-engineer software product lines from existing legacy systems and to evolve software product lines. To this end, the research will leverage techniques for static program-analysis, traceability, model synthesis, and mining software repositories, among others. The candidate will also conduct empirical studies with some Swedish industrial partners from the automotive, industrialautomation, and aerospace industry. In addition, the position requires a contribution to the teaching at the SE division in the form of supervision of Bachelor and Master theses and by supporting courses as a teaching assistant.

Eligibility
The qualifications for education on a doctoral level are: degree in advanced level, at least 240 university points, of which 60 are on an advanced level, or in an other way acquired similar knowledge acquired in another way. Applicants for the position should have a strong Master's degree in computer science and proven programming and tool-building skills. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in:
• Software Product Line Engineering
• Software Modeling (e.g., UML, architecture modeling, feature modeling)
• Program Analysis
In addition, the applicant should be fluent in English and should ideally have good communication and self-organization skills.

Assessment
Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for education on a doctoral level are given in SFS 1998:80. The selection process will be competitive. If you are interested in the position, please provide:
