hela Sverige The School of Pure and Applied Natural Sciences seeks a PhD student in geochemistry. The research will be carried out at the unique underground hard-rock laboratory at Äspö, Sweden, (www.skb.se/aspo), and also in the boreal landscape around that laboratory.
The research will be carried out within the Geochemistry Research Group (www.skb.se/asporesearch). The focus will be on occurrence and distribution of major and trace elements in surface waters and ground waters, and how the elements are released and trapped in soil and bedrock. Lanthanoids and actinoids will be of particular interest. The research consists of several different parts, including field work, laboratory work and data analyses. The studies are 4 years full time. During the first two years you will be paid by a post-graduate study scholarship (“utbildningsbidragâ€) and during the final two years by a salary.
Basic requirements Applicants should have a Masters Degree (240hp/240ECTS) in a subject area of relevance for the present project. Documented training and experience of field and laboratory work, data analyses and modelling will be of advantage.Basic requirements for post-graduate studies are laid out in the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance (Högskoleförordningen), Chapter 7.
