1 PhD student in the research education subject: Economic
Agricultural economics with focus on quantitative methods
We are looking for a candidate to conduct research in applied economic modelling in Uppsala. Research topics include econometric and mathematical programming methods, economic model development, and evaluation of European agricultural, trade, and environmental policies. The research work is likely to involve handling large amounts of microeconomic data from international databases. We believe that the applicant that we are looking for is strong in mathematics, interested in theoretical development and with an analytical mind. Other work at the Department (e.g., teaching or administrative work) may be included to varying extents, up to a maximum of 20 % of full time. The position is conditional on our successful acquisition of relevant funding. Assessment criteria: Particular emphasis will be placed on scientific qualifications within the subject area. Good English language skills (written and spoken) are advantageous as you will work in a multilingual team and with international projects. Basic knowledge of computer programming is a strong asset.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Bachelor degree in Economics or Agricultural Economics, or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent.

A person has basic eligibility for third level education if he or she has taken a second level qualification or has completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, including at least 60 higher education credits at second level.
Those who met the requirements for general eligibility before July 1st, 2007, i.e. had completed a programme of higher education for at least 180 Higher education credits or the equivalent, will continue to do so until the end of 2015."
Selection among applicants meeting the requirements is made with reference to written application including curriculum vitae, copies of degrees and transcripts of academic records, one copy of the dissertation for masters or undergraduate degree, a list of at least two references familiar with the applicant's qualifications, certified knowledge of the English language and an interview.
