The Arena
AstraZeneca is currently making large investments to increase our research capability in Inhaled Pharmaceuticals, in Mölndal, Sweden. We are investing in new equipment, new technologies and more people. We now aim to increase the number of people working with Product Development for Inhalation by 50%. We therefore seek people with knowledge in various skills relevant for inhaled drug delivery, such as formulation science, analytical chemistry, solid state properties, device development and biopharmaceutical sciences.
AstraZeneca Mölndal is one of AstraZeneca's three core sites for drug research, with about 2.500 employees at site. At Product Development, Sweden, a sub-division of Pharmaceutical Development, we focus on the fields of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases and on Respiratory, Inflammatory and Autoimmune Diseases. Within Product Development Inhalation we have an exciting pipeline, consisting of both new molecules and new devices. The unit currently comprises 80 people, dedicated to research and development for new inhaled drug products and we want you to be a part of growing our expertise in this area.
The Role
As a Packaging Engineer you will focus on turning good ideas into innovative and effective packages for pharmaceutical products and devices that make a real difference to the end user. You will be responsible for choosing the right packaging to pharmaceutical products and devices in order to create a product which fulfills the patient?s demands.
Examples include:
Be responsible for choosing or developing the right packaging for pharmaceuticals and devices in development to meet the customers and the market demands.
Scientific understanding of water transmission and relevant physical interactions
Ensure that the packaging has the correct documentation and that the manufacturing process and the packaging process is according to GXP regulations.
Ensure a smooth technology transfer of the packaging to intended manufacturing site.
Take part or lead internal and external expert groups within the packaging area
Provide regulatory and standards expertise within the field of packaging
Requirements
We seek a broad range of expertise in these roles. We are looking for you who are considered to be an expert in this area, have a PhD in relevant topics and we are also looking for newly graduates typically from Material, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or other relevant education.
