hela Sverige Do you want to be a part of the sustainability transition within Energy, Industry and Infrastructure?
What is happening, why do we need more hands on-deck?
The sustainability transition is triggering an unprecedent need for investments at all levels of society. Fossil fuels will have to be replaced by low carbon and renewable alternatives, and new technologies will have to be implemented on a large scale to ensure that adequate levels of emission reduction are met.
At the same time, physical assets already in place need to be maintained and improved to be part of the sustainable future. How this transition will happen is not always well defined, and there is thus a great demand for both thinkers and implementers who are prepared to test new solutions and approaches.
How are we approaching this as a team?
At Sweco Advisory Services, we are at the center of this transition, and we act in the broader context of having access to a wide pool of cutting-edge expertise as well as colleagues across multiple countries. We are an established and trusted partner in transactions and strategy consulting where we leverage Sweco's position as market leader in technology, infrastructure, and sustainability. Our experts are directly involved in most of the transactions in the Nordic energy market.
The day-to-day work is quite similar to traditional management consulting, but at Sweco we are deeply rooted in our position as a leading knowledge partner. We offer technical, commercial, regulatory and sustainability analyses in energy, industry, infrastructure, and work on both existing assets as well as new investments. We are engaged as advisors for due diligence, operational excellence, strategy development, upstream sustainability assessments and we provide expert advice in our own respective field to other Sweco engagement across our full service offering.
Primarily we work with clients in the financial sector acting as investors or owners of energy, infrastructure, and industrial assets. Our core areas include heating, electricity and gas distribution, power generation, hydrogen, energy storage, vehicle charging and so on. We focus on how different systems need to be combined within the context of regulation, policy, technology development, customers, and different stakeholder objectives. Our main market is Northern Europe and the energy sector, but we are also engaged in assignments across the EU and contribute to the ongoing industrial transition.
We believe a future colleagues professional self resonates with some of this
You are probably an engineer, or an economist. You might be newly graduated or maybe you have a few years' professional experience. You have a genuine interest in developing your own personal competence as well as learning completely new things that you have never been exposed to before. And you thrive in an environment founded on rapid external change, complex questions, teamwork and a high degree of personal freedom and responsibility.
You need to be highly organised and analytical. You are comfortable with using MS Office software for both modelling and communication. You approach problems without prestige and enjoy sharing ideas and feedback. You are likely one with a strong record of academic performance, you might even have prior experience from consulting but that is not a requirement, more a plus.
Since our working language is English you need to be comfortable in both spoken and written English. Also, we strive for teams that are multilingual and multidisciplinary and an ability to collaborate and communicate is a key success factor.
What about your future role?
You will be part of the Advisory Services team within Sweco Energy & Industry. As we are looking for several new colleagues with different backgrounds and experiences your role may vary based on your individual background and your personal preference and interests. Everyone is expected to take on large responsibility for their own contribution, show initiative and be curious, as well as have an ability to combine strong analytical and communication skills.
A typical task is to, at a short time, process large amounts of diverse information and distinguish what is important for the task at hand in each specific case. Another is to "translate" technical and other information from different sources to quantifiable input to financial models or to synthesise and visualise information in a structured and pedagogical manner. Normally you participate in numerous different projects and teams at the same time and support each team with both analytical and practical aspects of the work.
As a member of the Advisory Services team, you are expected to have the capacity to manage many different topics in an organised and analytical manner and have a genuine interest in learning and personal development. We believe in curiosity, and you are eager to take on challenges you have never tried before, and you work actively to develop you own professional contact network, both internally and externally. You will also have a large degree of freedom to develop based on your competencies, interests, and experiences.
We are looking forward to reading your application!
