Module Team Director Test and Calibration
The function area Powertrain Engineering is responsible for the development of transmissions and electric propulsion systems and the controls associated with these systems. The function area consists of 5 units, i.e. Advanced Engineering and Concepts, Transmission, Electric Propulsion Systems, Controls and Calibration, and Operational Management. Within the Controls & Calibration unit, the software department is responsible for the development and industrialization of the software for new powertrain systems. These powertrain systems are the main future and global technologies for the Geely group. They are employed in various powertrain configurations ranging from present combustion engines into new energy concepts. The software development and calibration is carried out in-house using state-of-the-art methods.
To strengthen our team for future challenges and projects, we are now looking for a Module Team Director Test and Calibration.
Role Summary
As Module Team Director Test and Calibration you are leading and distributing the calibration, verification and validation work at Powertrain Engineering Controls and Calibration. You and your team are part of the Controls and Calibration unit within the Powertrain Engineering area. The unit consists of 4 different module teams, i.e. project, hardware, software and test/calibration. Together, the unit develops the control functions and software in present and future state-of-the-art, transmission centered powertrain solutions targeting a globalized customer base.
Part of the challenge comprises presently the development of a team that takes product ownership over time in a complex calibration environment. Thus, you need to drive pragmatically for an approach covering HIL and car environment securing the fulfillment of demanding customer requirements.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Responsible for recruitment and competence planning for the module team
- Lead and distribute the work within the module team
- Drive and balance different projects vs each other according to timing, content and complexity
- Participate actively in the sourcing process in case of using in-house/external engineering providers
- Verify and follow-up on project KPI vs target
- Secure delivery according to project demands
- Report project status
Required Skills and Experience
- Engineering degree minimum at a Masters level
- Experience from transmission and/or powertrain calibration and industrialization processes
- Global/international experience
- Ability to create an inspiring and creative work environment
- Ability to inspire actions
- Good business acumen
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude and ability to keep the team motivated
- Fluency in English, both oral and written
- Driven problem solver who takes initiatives and responds to changing priorities
- Ability to travel
- Cultural awareness, especially Asian - European culture
