hela Sverige Do you have experience in additive manufacturing (AM) post-processing, characterization in materials science, and/or metallic heat and surface treatment? Do you enjoy working on a demand-driven technology linked to society and industrial challenges? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in AM post-processing to join our team in Gothenburg.
We offer an attractive workplace in a highly multidisciplinary environment. We conduct state of the art research in combining advanced design engineering, manufacturing, and post treatment/characterization that meet the functionality and sustainability needs of tomorrow.
About the AM-Team
The mission for the Additive Manufacturing (AM) team at RISE is to be a knowledgeable and trustworthy partner in the transformation of society towards a more digitalized, resilient, and sustainable path. The AM-field is constantly evolving with new technologies, materials, and services which open opportunities for creative, smarter, and more efficient designs. The AM facility at RISE provides an experimental testbed with the latest technology for companies and academy to use on their journey to find the best solution. The team is involved in everything from industrial implementation projects to fundamental studies together with academy and research institutes around the world.
About the Role
You will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team working on understanding microstructural interactions to accelerate qualification of AM components. The work will include conducting research and communicating the research in project meetings, at conferences, as well as publishing in scientific journals. The role is a collaboration between RISE, Chalmers University of Technology, and Linköping University focusing on post-processing of metal additive manufactured parts.
RISE in Mölndal have a modern testbed available to support the work from making the part, optimizing material properties, to final microstructure characterization. You will have an active part through the course of the research project from planning, experimental work and characterization in the lab and final documentation.
This is a post doctoral position that will turn into a permanent position.
The placement for this position is Gothenburg.
Who are you?
As a Postdoctoral Researcher with us at RISE, we believe that you are committed and driven. You are well-organized and have an interest in scientifically and dynamically searching for solutions to complex questions, where you may also involve the team.
You are expected to pursue a vigorous research program and collaborate with our researchers and the partners in the project. You are expected to contribute to the project at all stages: planning, execution, reporting, implementation, scientific publishing, and communicating and building relations with partners and stakeholders.
You have a PhD in additive manufacturing, material science, or similar. Earlier experience in research and/or development projects and work specifically within heat treatment processing. Experience with project management is also a plus. You have excellent communication skills in English and proficiency in Swedish is desirable.
Are we right for each other?
We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for Swedish industry and research globally. RISE can give you the chance to make a real difference. Welcome to Sweden's Research Institute and Innovation Partner.
