Your base will Saab's head office in Stockholm (Alvik). The role includes travel both domestically in Sweden and abroad. You will report directly to the Press Officer and work in our global press centre, which currently comprises the press officer and four media relations managers. The role involves close co-operation with other communications professionals across the company.
Group Communication is responsible for communications work across the whole of Saab and develops communications work in owned, bought and earned channels. Corporate Communication is the unit within Group Communication that develops, prioritises and publishes material in all owned channels. The unit is therefore responsible for content development in channels such as the external website, intranet and social media. Corporate Communication also develops, coordinates and implements the company's overall communications within specific projects at a company level.
Your role
The focus is to strengthen Saab's brand and support Saab's business through a proactive working manner. As a Media Relations Manager, you will work both strategically and operationally to develop and drive forward the company's media relations in partnership with colleagues in different areas of the business and from various regions internationally. Writing and editing texts is a crucial element of the role. You will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring press activities on both a short and long term basis, encompassing minor and major activities taking place in Sweden and abroad. The role also involves providing advice on press matters to spokespersons and colleagues in different areas of the company. The position also involves beingthe on duty press spokesperson
Your skills and experience
We expect you to have several years of experience in media relations work on behalf of a company, public body or interest group. Experience from working with financial communication at a press department or a news agency is a merit.You should be capable of connecting media relations work to benefits to the business in your practical work. You understand the new media landscape being formed by changing media habits and the constant development of technology and it inspires you. You have a comprehensive grasp of society and knowledge of the multifaceted setting that Saab is based in. You are used to and like to direct work in a positive collaborative environment with colleagues from different parts of an organisation. You are thorough and work well in challenging situations. You are a fluent speaker and writer of both English and Swedish.
