Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a manufacturing technology specialist. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon-free society, and this is your opportunity to take part in leading those efforts and help drive us to success.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Development of new mechanical assembly processes and technologies for new products.
Definition of a process development plan for mechanical assembly technologies plotting the maturity of a process from concept to validation in prototyping.
Creation of measurement programs and protocols for confirmation of product dimensions.
Development of validation methods and securing access to relevant measurement resources.
Definition of mechanical assembly process specifications describing critical process requirements, controls, allowable operating windows, and validation process.
Execution of process development engineering studies, including DOEs, to develop process window and confirm feasibility.
Working with Product development team to develop a ensure manufacturability in the field of mechanical assembly.
Deployment of process solutions to enable delivery of prototypes, including characterisation and confirmation of prototype process solutions.
Standardisation of process solutions and validation methods to ensure consistency across projects.
Core contribution to FMEA activities to ensure completion.
Handover of process specification for to Deployment teams for development
Identification of areas for competitive advantage and innovation for the welding process technology.
Benchmarking of mechanical assembly technologies in the market.
Build network with internal and external collaborators.
Technical approval of process changes in production outside of agreed process window.
Third line of production support for all processes

Qualifications and experience:
MSc/MEng Manufacturing, Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
3+ years' experience of process development in manufacturing engineering.
Direct and hands on experience of mechanical assembly process development for new products.
Ability to travel off site between 25-50% of the time dependent on project phase
Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO9001 standards

Specific skills:
Knowledge of manufacturing process for battery module and pack solutions.
Expertise in Polyworks geometrical measurement software
