What you will do
As our next Manufacturing Engineer you will lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as represent Manufacturing during prepare and implement phases within the commodity area within Volvo Cars. Your main tasks will be to assure a flawless introduction of car programs into our plants. You will lead and coordinate activities within the defined area of responsibility and continuously strive for commonality within all the Volvo Cars plants global. You will also have an overall responsibility to define and implement production systems, tools, equipment and assembly instructions (PII) in respective commodity to ensure fulfillment of ME requirements and targets. To conclude you will:
* Define and verify all needed specific commodity equipment & tools to achieve optimal availability and maintenance cost for new programs and running changes
* Support development and maintain technical strategies within the area of responsibility
* Contribute to process driven product development by cooperating with the Advanced engineering groups and interface towards Productions plants for the commodities
Do you fit the profile?
* Technical competence at senior high school or university level or equivalent.
* Practical experience of the production processes and/or design development. Driver's license B
* Fluent in English, spoken and written.
Meritorious
* Knowledge about the processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and Research and Development.
* Skills in Product Development, preferably in automotive industry
* 6 Sigma
