As a Lab Manager, you keep the lab up and running, will have responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of a defined set of laboratories and will actively assist with health and safety requirements. This role will be a full-time and permanent position, based at our customer site, AstraZeneca, in Mölndal. You'll work from Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours and no shifts.
The team
You are part of a supportive team and are responsible for your own assigned lab, collaborating with a total 80 to 90 lab users from both Avantor and AstraZeneca Together with 14 other Avantor Lab Managers you belong to our department Lab and Product Services, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What we're looking for
Education: Scientific degree, preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or Life Sciences
Experience: validated experience in a lab environment is required
Collaboration Tool: Basic MS Office knowledge
Excellent communication skills in English, Swedish is a plus

Act as the "go-to person" for lab users and support them with problems / questions
Take care of the Operational Management by facilitating laboratory consumables inventories
Organize and lead regular lab user group meetings, with both internal and external partners, and lead any actions as required
Plan preventative and scheduled maintenance regimes with minimal impact to daily operations, ensuring any helpdesk requests are completed, working with suppliers on improvement projects
Assist in developing SOP's for various assays particularly focused on reagents/consumables and cost saving recommendations
Review training of lab support staff working in the area to ensure all are working to a consistent level and perform laboratory inductions for new lab users
Provide operational support on projects to establish understanding of business needs and identify opportunities for process improvements
Report on delivery through relevant KPIs and drive operational efficiency, cost savings, process improvements
Work with the scientists to identify future requirements and new innovations in technology to further improve scientific capability within the function
Create, maintain and update relevant documentation in support of service delivery, compliance and training
Support the Department's leadership team with health and safety compliance and identification/delivery of improvements
