You optimise our risk management processes and tools
As an Insurance Risk Consultant in Codan, you help ensure that our business colleagues drive their risk management activities forward, optimising performance according to group strategies and a rapidly changing risk environment. Based on your overview and analyses of the relevant areas, you connect the dots, identify the big picture and push for improvements that support the business in making the right risk decisions based on your findings.
Working closely with many different, cross-functional teams from Underwriting, Reinsurance and Portfolio management, you encourage and inspire the business to improve the way they work with risk management processes and tools. In doing so, you nurture a strong risk and control culture within the business, turning your numerous stakeholders into champions for your cause. In addition, you:
• Contribute to increased Risk team productivity
• Help build knowledge and understanding of Insurance risk
• Contribute to the development of the Insurance risk function on a global level
A head for insurance and a heart for people
You have a university degree in economics, business or a similar, relevant field, and you combine this with 3-5 years of practical experience working in the insurance industry. Here, you have gained familiarity with relevant insurance areas such as Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Governance and Control. Your business English is fluent both in speech and writing, and you are proficient in Norwegian, Danish and Swedish as well.
As a person, you combine your head for business, numbers and processes with a profound understanding of other peoples' positions and business requirements. This helps you excel at stakeholder management, enabling you to not only make your stakeholders see the necessity of your suggestions - but to make them enjoy turning them into reality. You are curious and never stop asking questions until you are satisfied that you have all the answers. The same curiosity is also what might eventually lead you to different departments and deeper into the field of risk. Great communication skills, self-confidence and a positive, can-do attitude are also part of your personality.
You cover Scandinavia from Copenhagen, Denmark
As our new Insurance Risk Consultant, you will join the insurance risk team currently consisting of two colleagues. One is in Malmø, Sweden, while you and the rest of the team are based in Copenhagen. We are part of the Risk & Compliance division which counts 22 colleagues, most of whom are based in Copenhagen while the rest are based in Malmö and Stockholm, Sweden. In all our work, we aim to support the business in achieving our strategies and objectives in a controlled manner. Our workload goes in cycles where certain periods demand extra effort to manage, and we all pitch in to lend a hand and help each other out. As we cover all of Scandinavia, you must expect some regional travel.
