About this opportunity
We have a very exciting opportunity to join us at Volvo Cars People Experience (PX/HR) as the Head of Global Competence & Learning.
The automotive industry is going through its biggest transformation journey ever. The future is electric, autonomous and online with groundbreaking technologies and new innovative business models. Securing that our talents globally continuously develop the competencies needed to deliver on our corporate strategy is key for the future.
In this role, you will develop the vision and global strategy for Competence & Learning for Volvo Cars. You do this in close collaboration with our business and through external insights. The strategy includes the strategic competencies needed for the future, strategic workforce planning as well as how to work with developing the competencies needed. During the last couple of years, Volvo Cars has defined a competence model with both behavioral as well as functional competencies and you will own and continuously develop the model to reach the wanted effect.
As a Business Owner, you own the user experience end-to-end as well as the digital tools supporting the competence and learning processes. You continuously interact and communicate with many different stakeholders to improve and future proof the tools and ways of working. Stakeholders include end users, business PX (HR), executive management, marketing & brand, finance, digital and vendors to mention just a few. You drive the learning culture within the company and develop efficient learning practices. This is a global role and you will work closely with our learning teams in our different regions to bring the strategy into action. In your role, you will represent Volvo Cars externally and interact with different external stakeholders within the learning area.
You will be part of the Global Development & Delivery (GDD) management team at People Experience (PX/HR). GDD is responsible for global people strategies, processes and tools and the management team consists of a very dedicated team of Business Owners and People Managers who are passionate about challenging the status quo when developing and delivering future focused people solutions. During the last couple of years, we have, in collaboration with digital (IT), developed an agile way of working (SAFe) for our strategic initiatives within PX. You will own the strategic global competence and learning initiatives and lead the agile development.
We are looking for a person with a very strong track record of leading learning strategies, processes and tools in global companies of our size, preferably within the software industry. You bring great strategic and holistic skills. You are excellent at translating business needs into a future competence and learning vision, strategy and business case and you really enjoy leading the strategy into tangible results. You package, brand and communicate the vision and strategy of how to get there in a way that creates clarity and inspires the company to get to action!
You have an outstanding capability to balance different stakeholders to be able to make decisions that are best for Volvo Cars globally. You love new digital solutions and innovative ways of solving complex issues. You have a structured approach where you always put the end user/customer at the center to realize true business value. As a leader, you are inclusive and are known for creating an open and trusting environment. You are passionate about bringing out the best of every individual and you are great at empowering diverse and global teams.
