Exterior department within the unit Body & Trim develops most of what you see on the outside of the car. We are responsible for the entire process of construction of exterior systems such as glass, bumpers, moldings, lighting, and large injection moulded exterior plastic parts. We have the development responsibility for Volvo Cars all product families and the development work is done in close cooperation with our development suppliers. Development activities are carried out mainly in Gothenburg. You work in a creative environment where tomorrow's cars are shaped. We work in flexible cross-functional teams tailored to development tasks.
As a Hardware Designer for Lighting System you will work in the section Lighting System which is responsible for the development of lighting systems for Volvo Cars all car models. This includes Headlamps, Rear Lamp, Fog Lights, Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) as well as system as Active high beam and marking lights. You will work together with our development supplier around the world.
Main responsibilities
• You are responsible for securing electrical interfaces for Lighting system
• Hardware review and support in software reviews
• Drive and fulfill EQUAD requirements
• Support/responsible for SWEJ, SWJR, SWDR, SWRS
• ISO 26262 System Safety
• Participate in field expeditions
• Competence support for Exterior department
Required qualifications
• Technical education at university level or equivalent
• Proven knowledge in Hardware design
• Documented experience in hardware/software development, at least 2 years
• Knowledge in KDP, TCE, Electra
• Driver's license B
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
