Polestar is the independent electric performance car brand founded by Volvo Cars and Geely Holding. In 2017, Polestar launched the Polestar 1 - a low-volume Electric Performance Hybrid GT. In 2020, the Polestar 2 was launched as the company's first fully electric, higher volume premium car designed to compete with the Tesla Model 3. In the future, Polestar 3 will join the portfolio as a fully electric performance SUV.

The Role

Polestar is blazing a new trail, dedicating ourselves to the development and refinement of electric vehicle performance. Your experience within areas such as Vehicle Dynamics & Mechanical Engineering within Vehicle Hardware would be invaluable to us both in concept work and when working with current designs for increased customer satisfaction.

Your contribution

Vehicle Dynamics & Mechanical Engineering Team is a part of the Polestar R&D Vehicle Hardware Unit.

The teams within R&D have a mission to deliver results which exceed the customers expectations. The team consists of various roles such as technical experts, component owners, lead and design engineers. The area of responsibility will mainly focus on the deliveries connected to Vehicle dynamics/Driving Dynamics including SW tuning. And mechanical engineering, both connected to the Chassi area and other Vehicle Hardware areas.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Develop team and way of working securing efficiency and deliveries
• Supporting and coaching team members to evolve and grow in their roles
• Responsible for securing team resource
• Support design work around requirements connected to the engineering areas.
• System design and balancing the different requirements when applicable
• Input on technical solutions for concepts and running programs
• Support sourcing of components when needed
• Supplier and contractor evaluations when applicable

Essentially, you keeping an eye on future electric vehicle properties within responsibility area will ensure that Polestar is striving for an exceptional customer experience.

You have a strong wish to create the future of electric vehicles - it's probably fair to call you an EV nerd. You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized and driven. You have relevant education and background for the position. You're not afraid to try new approaches and unconventional methods, and you work well both individually and with leading teams. You have a holistic view, including vision, business, and customers.

At Polestar, you will be leading a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication.
