As we always keep our eyes open for the best logistics engineers and as yet another of our talents will move on to new challenges, this role now opens up for you here in sunny Tuve.

The Global Logistics Specialist (GLS) works within a global logistics network of Volvo Group Trucks Operations (GTO). The network consists of logistics specialist, developers and local engineers from Volvo plants all over the world. The objective is to develop our in plant logistics processes in order to not only to stay the best truck manufacturer in the world, but also to take us to the next level and leave our competitors far behind!

You will lead a global network that consists of a team of highly skilled and engaged logistics engineers located in Volvo plants around the world. Your mission as a GLS is to use not only your own but the logistics skills of the team in order to define best practices, develop new solutions and support implementations of improved processes in plants when needed. You will be the leader of the Internal Transports global network and responsible for the Master process guide in this area. Providing expertise and develop and share in-depth knowledge in this field are one of the key objectives. Another is to develop and execute the Logistics technology roadmap based on identified business potentials for new technologies. During logistics projects you can support or act by providing technical requirements whatever on a Product, Process or Systems perspective.

The Global Logistics Specialist is a humble person with excellent leadership and communications skills that loves to succeed by collaborating with others. He/she is a person that embraces challenges with open arms in a high pace and result oriented environment. The GLS possesses a true passion to improve the logistics processes regarding safety, quality, delivery and cost.

You will belong to the Logistics Engineering department with about 20 awesome logistics engineers. You will work and be a part of the Internal Logistics & Packaging Engineering global network (ILPE), shaping our future in production logistics and trucks manufacturing. You will report to the Logistics Engineering Manager and be placed at the Tuve plant in Gothenburg in the heart of Swedish industry.

The ticket to ride
• Strong in building networks across cultures and organisations
• Proven leadership skills: communicative, persuasive, action oriented and result driven
• Profound knowledge of production and production logistics processes
• Proven to be very competent in designing and implementing logistic flows from A to Z
• Good knowledge about LEAN philosophy, problem solving and continuous improvement
• Proven experience in managing projects and are skilled in project management structures
• You have a master degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience
• At least five years' work experience from production / production logistics processes
• Fluent and easy to understand in English, spoken and written

Volvo Group Trucks Operations encompasses all production of the Group's engines and transmissions, as well as all production of Volvo, Renault and Mack trucks. The organization is responsible for spare parts supplies to the Group 's customers as well as for designing, operating and optimizing logistics and supply chain for all brands, production facilities and distribution centers where the Volvo Group operates.
