Embark on a transformative journey in the maritime industry as we seek a skilled individual to join our team as a Fleet Connectivity Engineer. You will be given the opportunity to enter a highly skilled technical unit, the Fleet Connectivity & Automation team in Marine Operations, where you'll dive into the forefront of shipping innovation, leading the charge in developing and optimizing ship-to-shore communication systems for our fleet of RoRo vessels trading globally.

Job Description
Main responsibilities and tasks:
Act as subject matter expert and technical owner of ship to shore connectivity and communication technology
Including satellite connectivity, cyber security, cellular networks, as well as on board wired and wireless networks for OT data traffic
Ensure standardization of ship to shore connectivity solutions across the fleet
Assess, calculate, analyze and advise on business cases for new technology adoptions
Manage OT/IT data traffic amounts between ship and shore and drive efficient data communication through interaction with ship managers, vendors and vessel crew
Continuously improve ship to shore connectivity by identifying operational pain points, be on top of the technology trends, implement new solutions and drive best practices on ways of working and on opex management
Own and drive cyber security guidelines, requirements, tools and policies for vessel connectivity
Facilitate for, and identify on-board OT connectivity needs, such as WiFi and IoT networks (onboard connectivity)
Be the technical liaison on fleet connectivity issues between Marine Operations and corporate IT
Assist on workstreams in Fleet Connectivity & Automation as required


Qualifications and experience:
Preferably a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information and Communications technology (ICT), Communication Systems, Network, Electronics, Computer Science, Satellite Technology etc.
Experience in satellite technologies, IoT networks, cellular connectivity etc. is an advantage. If you do not have practical experience, a strong interest is in these topics are required.
Experience in project work is required

Innovative mindset and able to think creatively and find innovative solutions to complex problems. A proactive and forward-thinking approach to technology and system design is required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for identifying issues, assessing business cases, and implementing effective solutions. This includes the ability to address challenges related to connectivity, data security and system integration
Success in this role involves collaboration with diverse teams, including other engineers, maritime professionals, and other stakeholders, from all over the world. Effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences is therefore crucial
The right candidate should be adept at project planning, execution and documentation


Location: Gothenburg
Travel: As our business is global some travel should be expected.
