We are seeking the next talented member to our Field Application Engineering team covering a number of market verticals in Europe. In this highly visible role, the FAE will be the key interface between the customer technology teams and Thinfilm's R&D, Product Management and Sales teams. Our FAE role is a customer-focused technical sales professional who provides technical information and design/implementation guidance to our customers. You will have in-depth knowledge about Thinfilm's technologies, products and be creative in paving the path to pragmatic solutions leading to a successful sale.
• You will have direct technical accountability for specific opportunities, leveraging knowledge across a broad Thinfilm product portfolio, including system development and integrated circuit design
• You will take an architectural perspective to demonstrate how Thinfilm products and solutions can be integrated into customer products
• You will develop and sustain relationships with the customer technical staff in order to identify opportunities aligned to the customer's business goals
• You will proactively share knowledge and best practices throughout Thinfilm and the ecosystem of Thinfilm partners
Responsibilities
• Work with prospective customers to understand their use cases as well as needs and develop the internal and external requirement specifications
• Liaison with customers, Product Managers and technical teams to ensure matrix communication and collaborate during development, launch and sustaining of existing and new products and act as the first technical interface for the customers
• Provide timely support to our European Sales Team, the Business Development Vice-President and other sales executives as needed
• Support sales by providing functional and technical responses, clarifications, planning, and documentation to customers for Thinfilm's technologies, components and systems
• Hands on sales support as well as leading the proof of concept phase, prototype builds, implementation and documentation as needed
• Keep updated with deep technical and business knowledge of industry directions, technologies and trends
• Regular travel to prospective customers and technical conferences throughout Europe and occasional travel to rest of the world
Requirements
• Highly skilled team player, comfortable to pitch the technology strategy at executive and expert level
• Sales driven, pro-active, pragmatic, persistent, self-motivated
• Credible, trusted advisor - technology focused, technical expert
• M.S in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in integrated circuit design and system development
• Minimum of 2 years experience in at least two of the following: PCB design, Firmware development, Integration and Product development, Industrial design and Software development
• Solid knowledge of the complete ASIC design methodology
• Understanding of digital and analog design involved in designs ranging from simple to complex functional modules
• Prior experience interacting with prospective and existing customers and deriving the requirement specifications from ideas and qualitative descriptions
• Hands-on experience in all the stages of product life cycle from concept to volume production and beyond
• Excellent overview of the industry, able to leverage reference cases and best practices
• Fluent in English
