Logistics
Business structure & Purpose
Supply Chain Management is responsible for preparing and developing the supply chain from Tier 1 production part suppliers to Volvo Cars vehicle and component plants in new car / engine projects. An optimized supply chain from start is essential for achieving a flawless launch of a project and to secure a continuous supply of material.
We are now looking for a new team member to strengthen our efforts to launch our upcoming projects in a quality assured way. The position is located in VAK office, Gothenburg but will require some travelling.
Supply Chain Management is part of the new department: Logistic Industrialization within Logistics.
Main Tasks
The main tasks for the Experienced EDI Coordinator will be to make sure that European suppliers are ready and aware of Volvo Cars logistics requirements before start of delivery to our plants globally and to maintain and make sure the EDI function support the global business needs.
Connected tasks are:
* Establish EDI communication flow between Volvo Cars units and production suppliers
* Follow up EDI implementation progress status weekly and monthly
* Support EDI activities of existing supplier for different Volvo Cars units.
* Establish EDI activities from suppliers when change of migration and system.
* Being the main contact for requestor and executor regarding EDI-issues.
* Analysis and handle stop contract and communication problem from IT provider.
* Approver for Volvo Cars user for BIS/MT (Message Tracker) Volvo Cars application.
* Educate and present the EDI process towards the different Volvo Cars units on request.
* Actively participate and support EDI provider and Volvo Cars IT in project meetings.
* Participate and represent Volvo Cars in development projects within EDI.
* Update of EDI specifications in relation to business needs.
Responsibility
Prepare suppliers during project and running production phase for 100% EDI communication in relation with the Volvo Cars Logistic Webguide requirements and EDI specifications.
Update of EDI specifications in accordance to Volvo Cars business needs.
Authority
Authority to decide on the priority of EDI communication activities in order to reach the EDI communication that is expected of requester to operate the business.
Competence Requirements
* University degree in Supply Chain Management
* Preferred 5 years' experience in Logistics and/or Production
* Experienced in EDI standards and messages
* Understanding of supply chain process, material handling and packaging
* Fluent in written and spoken English
* Green belt certified or equivalent
* Good knowledge in Microsoft office package
* Experienced from working in project as project leader/coordinator
