The Volvo Ocean Race is a truly global sailing competition, which is owned and organized by Volvo. The 2008-2009 version will start in Alicante in October this year and visit nine different ports around the world before returning to Europe and the finish in St Petersburg in June 2009. The race is definitely a ten months’ challenge for those onboard the participating boats, but also for everyone working in the ports
We now are looking for Product Specialists and Team Leaders for the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009.
The Volvo Ocean Race team will be working at all the stopovers. The team will support the Exhibition, Volvo Ocean Race Simulator, Prize Giving’s and activities within the Volvo Ocean Race Village.
As a Product Specialist and as a Team Leader you will demonstrate the products for the visitors and answer any questions related to the race and the brand. You will also collect leads of interesting prospect for the market and support the Volvo Ocean Race programs in relevant ports.
The Team Leader works as a Product Specialist but is also responsible for the schedules and contact with the local market. The Team Leader is also responsible for the leads collection and to set up and control the local training after defined content.
To work as a Product Specialist or a Team Leader you must be social, independent, flexible and structured. You have work- and travel experience and you are a good team player. Fluency in English and Swedish is required and other language skills are also encouraged.
Preference will be given to applicants within the age limit of 25 to 35.
