Role and responsibilities
The department Electromobility is organized within the product development organization of Group Trucks Technology in Gothenburg. Within the Electromobility department we work with design and development of electromobility systems and components such as energy storage, motor drives and charging solutions for Volvo group products. The organization develops and drives the Electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is one of the keys to achieving sustainable mobility for the future.
As the Director of Motor Drive System, you will have a senior leading position with the responsibility to drive the development of Electric Motor Drive Systems within the Electromobility function of GTT. You will report to the Vice President of Power Conversion and thereby be a key player in the management team. Here you will have a big impact on the quality of the coming electric products of the Volvo Group.
In your important mission you will:
Define, lead and implement the Motor Drive System strategy and roadmap, with a full product ownership from cradle to grave. You will develop our capabilities and capacity, making us the experts and go-to group. Passionately develop individuals to reach their full potential and continuously work towards improving the way of working at electromobility is a successful method to achieve our mission.

Your qualifications:
MSc in Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics/Physics
Minimum 15 years of experience from complex product development (preferably from Automotive area)
Solid experience in power electronics development (electric motor drive/electric motors)
Leadership experience within agile way of working
Experience from platform development
Knowledge in functional safety/ISO 26262 and Software development methods
Experience from power electronic control software
