Your everyday life

You get an opportunity to work together with highly skilled colleagues in an exciting, global environment which provides opportunities to develop both professionally and personally. You will work in close collaboration with various stakeholders inside and well as outside the Volvo Group.

To generate the expected breakthroughs in this area you will lead a team of around 120 talented individuals located in Sweden, India and United States. You will be able to develop an extensive network inside the Volvo Group across business and functions.

Core responsibilities

As a Director you will have an overall responsibility for the cost and quality of the existing solutions as well as responsibility for successful IT deliveries in projects. You will also lead strategic initiatives across Solution Centers in the unit.

Your main responsibility is to ensure that your department delivers as planned. As a member of the R&D and Purchasing management team you will contribute to making the unit successful. That includes communicate and demonstrate a shared sense of purpose and proactively identifying and removing obstacles or barriers. Your job will also include overseeing and adjusting budgets, recruitment- and workforce planning and performance reviews. In addition you will be working with strategic negotiations and orchestrating Volvo activities in our partnerships in the PLM domain.

The position requires experience in working with large, distributed teams and having the ability to manage growth. We see that you have experience from merging different ways of working and be able to create processes that fit different locations.

Your profile

As a Director you need to have the ability to create an efficient and trustful day-to-day operation. You have proven experience as a leader in senior positions and excel in demonstrating value driven leadership. You have a passion for applying IT to achieve business value.

We believe you have a strong analytical side and are able to weigh in different approaches and possibilities before making a decision. You have great people skills and like to work closely to highly technically skilled teams.

As a leader you have the ability to communicate vision, strategy and objectives in an inspiring way and you have experience from successfully developing direct reports and building effective management teams. Your leadership is characterized by high level of intergrity and trust based on ethics and values and you understand the value of promoting diversity on all levels in the organisation.

You can actively cooperate with various stakeholders and navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment. It is important you have an innovative and creative mind-set in order to inspire and challenge your organisation. You also have a strong quality focus and a personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set for your unit and have an understanding how these contribute to the Volvo Group vision and strategy.

Required competencies & skills

• Relevant university degree, software or mechanical engineering
• Experience from functional domain, e.g having worked with Product Development
• Solid experience from IT delivery in the PLM area (project, runtime)
• Experience from vendor management
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Complete proficiency in English
• strong organizational agility
