This allows people to design programs in a way so that what is currently difficult and time consuming (crediting and adhering to licenses) is made automatic and easy (attribution is inserted automatically and relevant license information is passed on when distributing a work further, for instance).
Our work is both technical and social, and brings together stakeholders from many different industries as well as from the community in order to create stable and lasting infrastructures. In order to meet these challenges, we're looking to expand our team with a part- or full time community and partnerships manager to take the principal lead on developing our relations with our partners, community and other stakeholders. We're looking for an enthusiastic individual who can not only drive our activities in this area but also support the organisation in its other activities and processes.
The community and partnerships manager will be responsible for:
• Structure, build and nurture the community around our work,
• Help new people get involved in our work,
• Structure and foster strong relationships with our strategic partners,
• Proactively develop our strategic partnerships through identifying key stakeholders and building relationships,
• Maintaining our social media presence,
• Manage processes for our communications work,
• Develop external and internal materials for publicity and communication,
• Represent at events and in meetings.
Skills required
• Experience from sharing and using works under open licenses
• Experience from building communities and relations
• Experience from representing and speaking at external events
• A highly structured way of working
• Self-starter with an intrinsic motivation that doesn't require extensive management
• Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience and knowledge about metadata are beneficial
• Fluent in English; second languages a plus
Formal qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area, or proven track record of excellence in the field
• 3-5 years experience from open licensing (in particular Creative Commons)
Work environment and salary
The community and partnerships manager work from his or her own location with an open invitation to the office in Gothenburg, Sweden. Some international travel is required to participate in conferences, workshops, and other meetings. The position is either an employment (for staff within Sweden) or a contracted position.
