Join the INCF Secretariat at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

INCF is an international organization launched in 2005, following a proposal from the Global Science Forum of the OECD to establish international coordination and collaborative informatics infrastructure for neuroscience. INCF is hosted by Karolinska Institutet and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. INCF currently has Governing and Associate Nodes spanning 4 continents, with an extended network comprising organizations, individual researchers, industry, and publishers.

Our mission is to facilitate the work of neuroscientists around the world, and to catalyze and coordinate the global development of neuroinformatics. We aim to foster scientific collaboration, advance training in neuroinformatics, and act as an independent international facilitator. The INCF Secretariat supports the Nodes with project management, outreach, and administration of community-driven projects regarding standards and best practices for data and code reuse, integration of infrastructures, reproducibility, and interoperability issues in neuroscience.

Key Functions:

INCF is looking for a communications support officer. The candidate should be highly organized and service minded with excellent communication skills in both English and Swedish. Interpersonal skills are essential and we emphasize the person's ability as a team player and contributing to a friendly work environment. The position may include some travelling. We offer a workplace within an international community in a dynamic environment at the cutting edge of science.

Area of responsibilities/duties:

• Member of the INCF communications team with responsibility for layout, printing, inventory, and curation of promotional and informational materials. Soliciting content for these items in conjunction with other members of the communications team.

• Web master of incf.org and neuroinformatics20xx.org

• Responsible for populating INCF's social media channels

• Content development and dissemination of the INCF newsletter

• Assisting with INCF events, where required, including organization and onsite support

• Management of specific budgets

• Occasional unsociable hours, management of urgent emails outside office hours

• Other tasks as may be necessary

Skills Required:

• Fluency in English & Swedish

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks

• Excellent and proven team-working ability

• Tactful and diplomatic oral and written communication skills

• Experience with planning and implementing communications strategies

• Experience with Drupal and Wordpress

• Proficiency in MS Office

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

• Proven skills in layout and design

• Proven skills in photo-editing using for example Lightroom and Photoshop

• Experience with social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and Google+

• Ability to learn about the organisation's scientific aims and be able to talk to community at events

Skills Desirable:

• Budget management

• Experience of Agresso

• Knowledge of Google apps, Skype, Doodle and other similar web applications for office use

• Experience working in MailChimp

• Experience with Solve CRM

• Experience working for non-profit and/or governmental organizations

• Experience working in a communications or marketing-related position in the private or other sector

• Experience working with the ticket system Codebase

• Experience in photography
