About the position
Perido is looking for a Communication Officer for our client, an independent and important agency of the European Union. The mission of this agency is to strengthen Europe's defenses against infectious diseases and identify, assess, and communicate current and emerging threats to human health posed by infectious diseases. The position is placed at their office which is nicely located just outside of Stockholm city.

Your daily tasks
In this role you will be working in the Communication section that aims at strengthening European capacities, knowledge and cooperation in communicable diseases prevention and control, in a way that is complementary to the other activities of the Centre. More specifically, you will be involved in following tasks:
Communication work including media, internal communication, and risk communication activities
Provide support in the communication of scientific outputs to the media and to the general public to make the information easily accessible to these target groups
Support staff in drafting responses to media enquiries
Write, edit, and publish content for external and internal communication purposes
Organise internal meetings and events in the area of communication and/or support in the planning and organisation of information stands
Perform other tasks in support of communication functions as assigned by the supervisor
Your qualifications
In order to be successful in this role, you need to have an excellent ability to communicate efficiently at all levels, internally and externally, in an appropriate manner. You also need to have excellent knowledge of how the media works and hands-on experience of conducting media relations. Furthermore, you have a high capacity to work under pressure and within tight deadlines, excellent planning and organisational skills, and an eminent ability to work in a team. Last but not least, we believe that you have a great ability to synthesize and analyze complex information and convert this into a format that is comprehensible for non-technical audiences. With a strong service minded approach and focus on delivering high-quality work, we know that you will succeed in your role!

Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in communication
Excellent ability to synthesize and analyse complex information and convert it into various formats for non-technical audiences
Some experience in communicating with the general public, working in internal communication and/or conducting media relations
Excellent ability to communicate efficiently and effectively at all levels internally and externally, in an appropriate manner
Capacity to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
Good planning and organisational skills
Excellent writing and editing skills
Excellent command of English, spoken and written
Contract type and hours
Full time, consulting assignment until 2024-06-30, with the possibility of extension. Start ASAP.
