About the position
The sustainable Agri-Food Systems Intelligence - Science-Policy Interface (SASi-SPi) is a 5-year project, funded by the EU, with the overall objective of contributing to the economic, social, and environmental sustainability of Aquatic and Agri-Food Systems in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. You will work with the Project Management Unit (PMU) responsible for the coordination and implementation of the SASi-SPi project. The PMU is led by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, a member of AGRINATURA. The position is located in Sweden, in one of SLU campuses to ensure regular and efficient communication with the SASi-SPi Project Director (PD) and Project Manager. (PM).
The Communication Officer will be responsible for the provision of communication assistance including the following responsibilities:
• In compliance with the EU visibility rules and guidance, ensure high-quality communication and visibility of the Project with the management of a website and social media platforms,
• In compliance with the EU visibility rules and guidance, collate outreach data for the preparation and distribution of information products to target audience(s) such as regular newsletters,
• Ensure regular contact and efficient communication with the PD, PM, the four Work Streams leaders, and FAO communication teams in charge of a sister SASI project,
• In close collaboration with the PD and the PM, assist the PM in reporting the activities led by all the Work Streams leaders,
• Perform any other duties connected directly with the communication of the Project to support the PD and the PM.
Your profile
General professional experience
At least 5 years of professional experience in communication, especially in areas directly relevant to international development. Experience related to food system sustainability is an asset.
Specific professional experience
At least 5 years experience in the design and implementation of communication plans,
Proficient use of social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and ability to craft compelling content
Excellent writing and oral presentation skills in English and French.
Ability to work effectively in a team of people and stakeholders with different technical backgrounds and varying levels of technical training.
Working experience in projects implemented in Africa, Latin America countries, and Asian countries will be an asset.
