This position is based in our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden.
What you'll do
Your main responsibilities in this role will be to lead all Polestar sourcing for Battery Cell and Modules connected to the EPS. It will be within your scope to establish supplier bases for each area defining short- and long-term sourcing strategies, and aligning with the business/stakeholders. Key within the strategies is to drive raw material traceability, reduce CO2 emission, increase recyclability of raw material and second life battery.
Further on you will:
• Perform procurement according to strategies that you have defined together with R&D.
• Negotiate commercial and legal agreements.
• Drive sustainability in the supply chain together with the sustainability team.
• Review purchase requisitions and identify and select contract/suppliers in accordance with defined strategies and agreements.
• Advise stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle as well as on modifications in requests. Improve collaboration with stakeholders and together towards common goals.
• Collaborate with other Geely Holding functions.
• Track key performance indicators on supplier and stakeholder contract compliance; define and take corrective actions to improve contracts compliance and continuously track supplier performance on quality and cost.
• Perform necessary market analysis to support the sourcing activity.
• Create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Initiate and conduct supplier evaluations and supplier audits.

We at Polestar believe in the concept "hire for attitude and learn for skills". But to be fair to you, it is good to understand that we have certain expectations on you:
• Proven experience (5+ years) as buyer within the EPS functions or similar purchasing position
• Experience of doing global business
• Previous experience of working at OEMs of commercial vehicles / passenger cars or at suppliers of Electrical, Electronics and Software to OEMs is an advantage
• Strong motivation and dedication to drive sustainability in the supply chain.
• Thorough understanding of the procurement process and strategic sourcing
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office packages
• BSc (or higher) in Economics or Technical discipline from a university degree or equivalent institution
• Get motivated by working in a very dynamic work environment meeting new challenges daily
