Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a world-leading supplier of equipment and complete solutions for the mining and construction industries.
Sales region Europe is responsible for the sales of Sandvik Mining and Construction?s product and service offering. As part of our ambition to take a larger environmental responsibility and limit our global foot print, we are now recruiting a Carbide Recovery Manager, who will develop and manage the collection and recycling of used rock drilling tools.
The position is limited to a two year project. The successful applicant will get a wide range of contacts and will, after the project time, have the opportunity to apply for other positions within Sandvik Mining and Construction.
Key performance areas
As the Carbide Recovery Manager you will ensure that the regional organizations within Europe have the right processes, operations and systems in place to procure and deliver drilling consumables for recycling to Sandviks central recycling facility. Your main responsibilities include:
• In conjunction with designated country contact people, identify potential supply sources for used and surplus bit collection
• Ensure logistical collection processes are set up in conjunction with local, regional and global stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with inspection procedures (conducted by external company)
• Coordinate and model buy back programs with customers, recycling companies, etc
• Develop pricing and costing models
• Set and manage collection targets that are aligned with SMC targets
• Implement and review consistent performance/long term contract structures (where appropriate) and approach and risk management for performance/long term contracts
You are required to travel within the region on a regular basis. You will report to the Regional Product Line Manager, Tools, Sales region Europe.
Your profile
The ideal candidate will possess a degree/certification in industrial economics, project management or engineering. You have international experience in project management with a background that preferably includes work within the logistics area of a matrix/global organization, including distribution, supply, transportation and recycling. You are an enthusiastic and well-organized team player. You have good planning and problem solving skills, with an analytical approach, and you are also an excellent communicator who can provide a cooperative environment and gain the support of others to deliver quality results. As the position involves several external contacts, good communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written, are essential. Other languages are merited.
