Calibration Engineer - Troubleshooter Engine Control

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. As CALIBRATION ENGINEER, TROUBLESHOOTER your main responsibility is to support departments outside of Engine Control with their testing of engines. We are looking for a "hands-on" engineer to join the departments of Combustion Control Petrol. In this position you will broaden you contact network by cooperating with other departments.

Within the section of Engine Controls and Calibration our mission is to optimise the Engine Management System to bring out all of the best qualities out of the engine. You will be a part of the development of technical solutions that has a big impact on how the costumer perceives his/her vehicle.

Job profile:

• Problem solving concerning the Engine Management System
• Fault trace engine hardware and software
• Give support to other departments with for example recalibration of the engine software for the specific test, do measurements, supervise the test, download latest software
• Perform a "sign-off" that the engine/vehicle has correct and functional hardware and software so the testing can start
• Making reference tests of a correct engine that can be used for comparison with other engines
• Perform functional testing of hardware and making sure that we have the correct hardware in our own test objects

Your profile:

• Technical University degree within Mechanical Engineering, Electronics or Applied Physics
• Education in combustion engines and electronics
• Knowledge and experience from calibration of Engine Management Systems
• Knowledge and experience from engine diagnostics in Engine Management Systems
• Experience from working with fault tracing and problem solving is meritorious
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems
• Practical Mechanical experience/interest
• Problem solving interest and analytical
• Well structured and thorough
• Cooperation skills, outgoing and service minded
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English
• Drivers license B is required, preferable BE
• Experience using INCA software
