hela Sverige The Project Support and Administration Directorate at the European Spallation Source ERIC in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Business Controller.
Description of directorate/division
The Project Support and Finance division, one of the divisions within the Project Support and Administration Directorate, currently consists of 20 staff and is responsible for the following major areas:
• Planning - which includes project management processes and skills, as well as supporting the different ESS projects with project management skills and resources
• Finance - which includes accounting, payments and delivering the annual report
• Risk Management and Insurance - which includes risk management process and the top-level risks at ESS as well as management of insurances
In addition to the above, the Project Support division also supports the Director General in the management of the total cost, schedule and risk for the construction of the ESS facility and is responsible for external project and financial reporting as well as cash-flow and currency exposure.
Description of main responsibilities
The position is new and you will have a great possibility to develop the role together with routines and processes necessary to ensure good cost control in the Project Support and Administration directorate.
Your main responsibilities are:
• Drive planning, forecasting and follow-up within the directorate
• Support director and division heads in establishing yearly budgets and support with budget follow-up
• Support director and division heads in staff planning
• Support director and division heads in planning and execution of major procurement contracts
• Establish, maintain and monitor relevant KPI's and indicators for the directorate
• Validate, analyze and follow-up actual costs and hours reported
• Suggest and implement improvements measures primarily in the field of budgets and finance
• Support director and division heads in both internal and external reporting
• Identify and keep track of actual and potential savings/cost increases
In addition to the above you will also work, together with the other controllers who support the Machine and Science directorate, with several of the controlling team central tasks such as members contributions, long and short-term cash-flow, optimization of loan usage, resource rates etc.
Qualifications
• Relevant degree (Bachelor or Master) in accounting, finance or engineering
• Minimum of 7 years' experience, whereof at least a few years' experience from project work in medium to large sized projects or equivalent controlling work.
• Passion for numbers, reporting, analysing and presenting results
• Experience of working in an international environment is essential
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage
• Previous experience of developing and implementing routines and processes for cost control, budgeting and forecasting is advantageous

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
