Biometrics & Information Sciences (B&I) department is an integral part of Global Medicines Development (GMD) and drives good design to generate the data needed for quality decision making. The goal of B&I is to deliver value to the pipeline by excellence in delivery, improving decision making, and engaging and shaping the external environment whilst accessing and implementing innovative solutions.
B&I Technology Solutions (BITS) is the business unit that leads design, programme management and delivery of Biometrics technology infrastructure, defines and delivers Programming's Systems & Tools Project Portfolio, manages and maintains the Analysis and Reporting production tools and information infrastructure, and delivers project and study-level safety reporting across the late-stage drug project portfolio.
Role:
In the Automation & Tools Biometrics Technology Leader role, you will be an integral part of the GMD B&I team involved in a variety of activities in this global group.
You will be responsible for driving x- Functional automation and toolkits for A&R deliverables, business planning tools to facilitate Drug Project delivery models. In addition to contributing to continuous improvement and lifecycle management of B&I production technologies (software, environments, tools), in collaboration with internal/external groups.
This will include:
* Development, implementation and maintenance of technology and processes.
* Implementation and maintenance of meaningful metrics to measure Tools & Systems performance and success against strategic objectives.
* Full life-cycle management of B&I operational processes in a manner that meets applicable regulatory and evidential requirements.

Responsibilities :
In this role you will proactively identify opportunities, provide expert advice and influence AstraZeneca's response to complex challenges within AZ drug development related to data and information infrastructure:
• Including Automation & Technology Efficiencies
• Technical tools to support Data Quality, SDTM, ADaM and TFL
• Automation of work flow
• Operational Tools
• Checklists/Templates
• Ensures proficient information management and leadership skills to influence and promote consistent approaches to Biometrics data and information infrastructure, as well as utilization of best practices to enhance the value and contribution of the Programming department.
• Ensure computer system validation compliance for B&I production tools for audit ready stat
• Deliver key activities as they are defined.
• Core focus areas may change based on business demand so flexibility and a willingness to take on all types of activities is key
• Collaborates with internal B&I functions, SEUIT/IT, Clinical Operations, GRAPSQA, and other Science Units and stakeholders to influence the data and information, across AZ/Medi drug development.
Essential Requirements:
• Knowledge of data submission standards and streamline workflows
• Able to leverage experience to innovative and streamline workflows
• Able to effectively assess and mitigate risk and proactively determine the need and/or level of escalation
• Broad understanding of clinical drug development process and the contribution of different skills as well as technical and regulatory requirements relevant to the roles
• BSc in mathematical, computer science or life sciences (postgraduate degree preferred), with experience in Pharmaceuticals/Healthcare and Clinical Drug/Medical Device Development.
• Experience in statistical programming (e.g., SAS, R) to an advanced level and proficient knowledge of databases and repositories, relevant programming & scripting languages, data visualization tools and methods and hardware/software architecture.
• Proficient knowledge of clinical data standards (e.g., CDASH, SDTM, ADaM).
• In-depth experience in end-to-end software tool/solution development and lifecycle management
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills and proven leadership and professional skills that will enable successful collaboration within a diverse team in a cross-company partnership.
