We are looking for up to two highly motivated Associate Professors/Professors to join us at the division of Electric Power Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering

The department and the division

At the Division of Electric Power Engineering, we conduct research within a broad range of topics in electric power technology. Areas of research at the Division include (but are not limited to) power systems, power electronics, electrical machines and drives, high-voltage engineering, batteries and energy storage. Our research is conducted in tight cooperation with industrial partners. Our research is based on a solid theoretical basis and extensive experimental verifications in our laboratories as well as in the field. Research activities at the division are organized within two research units: 1) Power Grids and Components, and 2) Electrical Machines and Power Electronics. Major responsibilities
You will play an important role in contributing to our research and education activities. Your main tasks will include formulating and executing research projects, attracting research funding, and supporting researchers and doctoral students. The pedagogical tasks include teaching in courses at graduate and undergraduate levels, supervising bachelor and master thesis students. Other important aspects of the position include providing information and communicating about research and current development in the subject area, as well as cooperating within academia, industry and with society at large.

Your profile
You are an independent researcher with a PhD degree in electric power engineering or equivalent field. You have at least 4 years of experience in academia or industry after receiving your PhD. You have experience in formulating research ideas and leading successful proposals for research and innovation projects. You have an established network and have the ability to connect with different stakeholders, both nationally and internationally. Aiming at high-quality research and teaching activities, experience in experimental work prototyping is meritorious.

You enjoy working in a team and have experience in managing projects.

We would like you to have a demonstrated commitment to teach undergraduate and graduate students. The typical percentage of the pedagogical tasks is up to 30% of the total working time. Therefore, we place a great deal of emphasis on your pedagogical portfolio. Depending on the entry position, you should be able to complete the Chalmers training courses in teaching and learning in higher education (15 higher education credits) within two years of an appointment.

You have sound verbal and written communication skills in English. If Swedish is not your native language, we would like you to acquire sufficient knowledge to be able to communicate and teach in Swedish within a few years. Chalmers offers Swedish courses.

Contract terms
Full time permanent employment. The positions are aimed for Associate Professor or Professor level. The selected level of the position will be decided based on the qualifications of the selected candidate. For a definition of the academic level for the two positions, please consult our Rules of Procedure - Chalmers University of Technology's Appointment Regulations for Teaching and Research Faculty (Associate Professor at Section 6.3 and Professor at Section 6.2). Your qualifications and academic level will be evaluated by the department, Chalmers Faculty Appointment Committee and external evaluators.
