Analytical Development in Galderma Uppsala is responsible for development of new analytical test methods for medicinal products and medical device within the Aesthetic & Corrective business unit. The group Bioprocess Analytical Development which is developing analytical test methods for protein substances and products is now looking to fill a position as Analytical Chemist. This is a permanent position based in Uppsala, reporting to the Group Manager of Bioprocess Analytical Development.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Development of analytical methods for proteins, working procedures and documentation
• Validation of analytical methods, responsibility for instruments and equipment, and laboratory analysis work
• Participation in characterization of protein substances and formulations
• Acting as expert in appointed areas and supporting project teams with analytical testing competence
• Suggesting and developing new solutions to problems in order to improve performance
• Writing and reviewing scientific reports as part of regulatory submissions
About You
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
• You are a biochemist, analytical chemist, or equivalent.
• You have several years of experience working with proteins: analytical testing, method development and validation.
• You have experience of working with some of the following analytical methods: Chromatographic methods (RP-HPLC, SEC, IEX, HIC), IEF, 2D-electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA
• To be successful in developing analytical methods, you need a strong ability to find new solutions to problems, using an analytical approach.
• Working in our development projects requires that you reliably deliver project goals with high quality, on time. To achieve this, you need to be structured and able to manage tasks simultaneously with a strong delivery focus.
• As you will be working in close collaboration with people in the group and in the project, you should be open-minded, willing to adapt to differences and enjoy working with others in a collaborative way.
• Acting as an expert towards the project requires the ability to present your opinions in an open, honest and constructive way.
• You possess good communication skills; fluency in Swedish, both verbal and written, is required, as well as good working knowledge in English. You are a skilled writer and have experience of writing scientific reports or documents for regulatory use.
Desirable experience:
• A PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or equivalent
• Experience of protein characterization for regulatory purposes is highly meriting
• Experience of working according to GMP is a merit
