TA (Torslanda A-Plant) Engineering is a technical group of process owners and maintenance engineers responsible for our A-Plant. The mission of this group is to develop the methods and operations of the plant in order to reach and maintain world class standards. As Welding Engineer - Process Specialist within TA Engineering you will be responsible to ensure that the plant's conditions for the processes spot welding and stud welding complies with current product and process requirements. The position is a daytime job with flexible hours and it is regulated by the labor agreements of Unionen.
Main responsibilities
• Ensure that machinery and equipment complies with current product and process requirements
• Quality assure routines and methods in our plant and continuous improvements
• Educate in our processes and ensure that the education material is relevant and up to date
• Investigate and resolve process and quality occurrences
• Lead relevant networks in our plant in order to develop processes and staff
• Receive new technology standards related to new car projects; prepare implementation
• Participate in approving preparations for new car projects
• Provide input when we are acquiring new machinery/equipment
Required qualifications
• Extensive experience, at least 5 years, of automated spot welding processes
• Deep knowledge of robotic function packages and robotic process steering
• Deep knowledge in the design and operation of automated welding equipment
• Good knowledge in steel material science and steel grades
• Skilled in usage of PC and PLC environments
• Minimum a technical education from secondary school
• You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Knowledge in stud welding is meritorious
• General knowledge in bodyworks is meritorious
